Russia, illegal collection of personal information, Novaya Gazeta columnist formally accused

(Adnkronos) – Novaya Gazeta columnist Oleg Roldugin, known for investigations into corruption cases involving establishment figures, including Dmitry Medvedev and Ramzan Kadyrov, arrested on Thursday during a search of the newsroom of the publication forced to close in Russia in 2022, has been formally charged with illegally obtaining and publishing personal information, in violation of privacy law, an accusation for which he faces a four-year prison sentence. In recent days, his pre-trial detention until May 10 had been ordered.
