UN maritime organization, no country has the right to block Hormuz

(Adnkronos) – ”No country” has the right to close Hormuz and block maritime traffic passing through the Strait. This was stated by Arsenio Dominguez, the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization of the United Nations. “In accordance with international law, no country has the right to prohibit the right of innocent passage or freedom of navigation through international straits used for international transit,” Dominguez said at a press conference. 

US President Donald Trump has threatened a naval blockade of Hormuz starting today.
