UA Zensen Unions Agree 6.63 Pct Pay Hike for Part-Timers Tokyo, April 3 (Jiji Press)–Member unions of UA Zensen have agreed to a 6.63 pct pay increase for part-timers and a 5.21 pct rise for regular employees in this year’s “shunto” spring wage talks, the group representing distribution, textile and other industry unions in Japan said Friday. The agreements as of 10 a.m. on Wednesday translate into an increase of 80.4 yen per hour for part-timers and a rise of 17,024 yen per month for regular employees, both the highest levels since UA Zensen was formed in 2012. The rate of increase for part-timers exceeded that for regular employees for the 11th consecutive year. “We will continue to do our best to improve the lives of union members and ensure their stability,” UA Zensen chief Tomoko Nagashima said at a press conference.
