Energy crisis, public transport free in Islamabad

(Adnkronos) – Public transport in Islamabad will be free for all citizens. This was announced on X by Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, after the government drastically increased fuel prices due to the surge in global energy costs caused by the war in Iran. 

“All public transport in Islamabad will be free for the general public for the next 30 days, starting from Saturday,” the minister wrote, adding that the government will bear a burden of 350 million rupees (over 3 million euros).
