Tokyo, April 1 (Jiji Press)–Japan’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday established a new division designed to support Japanese companies’ expansion into and investment in India. The Japan-India Economic Affairs Division was created under the Southwest Asia Division of the ministry’s Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department. “India is an emerging market attracting attention from Japanese companies due to its high economic growth rate,” Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said at a press conference Tuesday. “We want to further deepen cooperation in the field of economic security through a public-private partnership,” he added.
