(Adnkronos) – The authorities of the United Arab Emirates are assessing the damage following the drone attack conducted by Iran which hit the Kuwaiti oil tanker al-Salmi, anchored in the port of Dubai. The Kuwaiti Petroleum Company explained that the tanker was fully loaded. It is an enormous ship with a capacity of 2 billion barrels, and in case of an oil spill, the environmental consequences could be catastrophic.
Currently, Dubai’s intervention teams report that the incident has been successfully contained without any oil leakage. Dubai’s press office also reported that no injuries were recorded.
