Tokyo, March 25 (Jiji Press)–Japan’s Sony Honda Mobility Inc. said Wednesday that it has decided to discontinue the development and sale of its electric vehicles. The move comes as the company has become unable to utilize technologies and assets planned to be provided by Honda Motor Co. following the major Japanese automaker’s review of its EV strategy, which was announced earlier this month, Sony Honda Mobility said. The EV developer will fully reimburse U.S. customers who have placed preorders for its vehicles. Sony Honda Mobility was established in September 2022 by Honda and Japanese electronics giant Sony Group Corp. END [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.]
