Russia: Duma bill authorizes Kremlin to conduct military operations to protect persecuted Russians

(Adnkronos) – The Russian government has submitted a bill to the Duma to grant the Kremlin even more powers to initiate military operations to protect Russian citizens residing abroad in cases of arrest, detention, or legal proceedings by foreign courts. The measures have been defined to protect the rights of Russian citizens before foreign courts without Russia’s participation or in international courts that are not based on international treaties with Russia or a UN Security Council resolution.
