(Adnkronos) – Fire on board the USS Gerald R. Ford, the US Navy aircraft carrier deployed in the Red Sea in support of the operation in the Middle East. The incident – reads a note from the U.S Navy – originated “in the ship’s main laundry rooms. The cause of the fire is not combat-related and has been contained. There is no damage to the ship’s propulsion system and the aircraft carrier remains fully operational.”
“Two sailors are currently being treated for non-serious injuries and are in stable condition,” it reads.
