(Adnkronos) – Turkey has stated that the Patriot missile defense system has been deployed in the center of the country, after NATO yesterday intercepted a second ballistic missile launched by Iran into Turkish airspace. “A Patriot system assigned to support the protection of our airspace is being deployed in Malatya,” reads a note from the Ministry of Defense. The area is known to be the site of the Kurecik air base, which hosts a NATO early warning radar system capable of detecting Iranian missile launches.
