Tokyo, March 6 (Jiji Press)–Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay will visit Japan for six days from Thursday, the Japanese government has said. It will be the first trip to Japan by a Bhutanese prime minister since Tobgay made a visit roughly eight years ago. During his upcoming stay in Japan, the Bhutanese prime minister will meet his Japanese counterpart, Sanae Takaichi, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation. This year marks 40 years since Japan and Bhutan, a landlocked country between China and India, established diplomatic relations. “We will exchange views on regional affairs and promote the realization of a free and open Indo-Pacific,” Japanese Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Kei Sato said at a press conference Thursday.
