USA, Bondi summoned to testify on Epstein by House committee

5 Marzo 2026

(Adnkronos) – With a bipartisan vote, the House Oversight Committee approved summoning Attorney General Pam Bondi with a subpoena for a closed-door deposition in the investigation into the handling of Jeffrey Epstein’s case. The move, which comes after Hillary and Bill Clinton’s depositions before the committee last week, had been requested in recent months by lawmakers from both parties after the Department of Justice, led by Bondi, failed for 42 days to meet the deadline for the publication of the Epstein files, set by the law approved last year in Congress.

The publication of over three million documents at the beginning of the year did not quell the criticism, as committee investigators estimated that these were only half of the documents in the department’s possession. Not to mention the consternation over the fact that many of the published documents did not protect the identity of the victims, in violation of the express directive of the Epstein Transparency Act, while instead the names of several involved individuals were redacted.
