5 Marzo 2026

Tokyo, March 5 (Jiji Press)–The Japan Business Federation, or Keidanren, will appoint Shinya Katanozaka, 70, chairman of ANA Holdings Inc., as chairman of its Board of Councillors, Jiji Press learned Thursday. The incumbent board chairman, Tetsuro Tomita, 74, adviser of East Japan Railway Co., also known as JR East, will step down when his term ends. Katanozaka will assume the second-ranking post within Keidanren after the group’s regular general meeting on June 3. His appointment is expected to be informally approved on Monday. From 2015 to 2022, Katanozaka served as president and CEO of the major Japanese airline group. He has also served as vice chair of Keidanren and helped the business lobby compile economic security-related recommendations for the government. Last month, Keidanren informally approved the appointments of six vice chairs, including Reiko Akiike, 61-year-old senior partner of Boston Consulting Group Japan.
