(Adnkronos) – More than 480 dead in Afghanistan. This is the new toll provided by Pakistani authorities in the context of what Islamabad has called “Operation Ghazb lil Haq”, launched at the end of last February with accusations against the Taliban government of Afghanistan of supporting the Pakistani Taliban and harboring those responsible for attacks on Pakistani soil.
In a post on X, Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tahrar writes about “losses for the Taliban of Afghanistan”, “481 dead” and “696 injured”, “226 checkpoints destroyed” and “35 captured” by Islamabad’s forces. The minister then lists the Taliban’s losses in terms of tanks and other vehicles and specifies that “56 sites in Afghanistan were targeted by air raids”.
As reported yesterday by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), at least 42 civilians were killed and 104 injured between February 26 and March 2 in Afghanistan. And among the victims are women and children.
