(Adnkronos) – A special flight was due to land in Italy’s northern city of Milan on Tuesday with 200 students on board who were stranded in Dubai at a United Nations event amid the widening conflict between Iran, the United States and its regional allies, foreign minister Antonio Tajani said on Tuesday.

“Some flights are taking off. This evening, a flight with 200 young people on board which were taking part in the (UN’s World Students’ Connection) diplomacy exercises event in Dubai should arrive in Milan. They should be leaving from Abu Dhabi,” Tajani stated.

“We are organising transport from Dubai to Muscat by coach and one convoy has already left,” Tajani went on.

Tajani was speaking to reporters at the Arctic Circle Rome Polar Dialogue forum being held at Italy’s national research council (CNR) headquarters.
