Nigeria, mine explosion in the center of the country, at least 38 dead

(Adnkronos) – At least 38 miners have died due to an explosion in a lead mine in Plateau State, central Nigeria, according to local sources reported to AFP. 

“38 people have been confirmed dead and another 27 have been rushed to hospital,” local traditional leader Aliyu Adamu Idris told AFP. A miner who went to the scene, Ibrahim Dattijo Sani, stated that the explosion occurred between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning, confirming the death toll.
