(Adnkronos) – After seeking to reassure European allies by stating, from the podium of the Munich security conference, that “Donald Trump is temporary”, California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom today in London signed a memorandum of understanding with the British Energy Minister, Ed Miliband, between California and the United Kingdom for “climate action”, focused on collaboration for the development of clean energy, including wind turbines hated by Trump.
“California will continue to show the world how we can transform innovation and ambition into climate action,” said the governor, considered one of the main candidates for the Democratic nomination for the White House in 2028. In addition to making it easier for British companies to access the Californian clean energy market, the agreement provides for cooperation between British and Californian research institutions to continue efforts against climate change within the framework of the UN treaty, from which Trump withdrew the United States.
“California is the best place in America to invest in the clean economy because we set precise goals and achieve them,” Newsom added, while the British minister stressed how this “strong international partnership” will strengthen “opportunities for British companies and ensure investments in our country,” Politico reports today.
