Sudan, ’90 civilians killed in drone raid on Kordofan’

(Adnkronos) – Around 90 civilians have been killed and another 142 injured in drone attacks conducted over two weeks in Sudan’s Kordofan region. This was stated by Volker Turk, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. “In a period of just over two weeks, up to February 6, according to documentation obtained by my office, approximately 90 civilians were killed and 142 were injured in drone attacks,” Turk told the UN Human Rights Council. 

The attacks, carried out by both the paramilitary Rsf (Rapid Support Forces) and the regular Sudanese army, “hit a World Food Programme convoy, markets, health facilities, and residential areas in Southern and Northern Kordofan.”
