(Adnkronos) – British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has apologized to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein for believing the ”lies” of Peter Mandelson, whose name appeared in the files of the pedophile financier who died in prison, and for appointing him ambassador to Washington in December 2024.
“Epstein’s victims have experienced trauma that most of us can barely comprehend,” Starmer said in a speech in the city of Hastings, southeast England. “I am sorry, I am sorry for what was done to you, I am sorry that so many people in power let you down. I am sorry for believing Mandelson’s lies and for appointing him” ambassador to Washington, he added.”
