(Adnkronos) – Italy can send paramilitary Carabinieri police officers to Jordan to train the war-razed Gaza Strip’s future force and will keep training police in the occupied West Bank, foreign minister Antonio Tajani said on Thursday
“We will continue to work so that the second phase of the (US) ceasefire accord can finally begin in Gaza,” Tajani said on the sidelines of a foreign affairs council meeting in Brussels.
“This will allow us to move forward finally towards a two peoples, two states solution (to the long-running Israeli-Palestinian conflict),” he said.
“We are ready to do our part and send Carabinieri to train the Gaza police. The training should take place in Jordan,” Tajani stated.
“We will continue to train the West Bank police with our Carabinieri officers, as we have been doing,” Tajani concluded.
