Russia, trade surplus with foreign countries declines

(Adnkronos) – Russia is increasingly isolated. And not just politically. But also on the trade front. The trade surplus fell by 10.48 percent to 124.7 billion dollars in the period between January and November of last year, compared to the same period of the previous year, according to data released by the federal customs agency. Exports decreased by 20.8 billion dollars to 373.7 billion, and imports by 6.2 billion to a total of 249 billion. Total trade fell by 4.16 percent in the 11 months considered. Exports to European countries fell by 16.3 percent to 52.2 billion dollars, and imports by 3.3 percent. Exports to Asia also fell by 2.6 percent, as did imports by 3.3 percent.
