(Adnkronos) – “We have eliminated 97% of the drugs entering by sea and now we will start hitting the cartels that control Mexico by land”. US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News, adding that “it’s very sad to see what has happened to that country, but the cartels continue to operate and kill 250,000, 300,000 people in our country every year. Drugs are horrible, they devastate families, you lose a child or a parent, even parents die because of drugs, so we have done a great job.”
“The numbers are really going down – Trump continued, referring to drug deaths in the US – but they will always be too high if there’s even just one person, but they are decreasing, just like border crossings. The border has been a total disaster for years. The first time I handled it very quickly and this time I did even better because it was an even bigger disaster. It was a border like no other probably in the history of the world, anyone could just enter our country. The border is now closed, no one enters and no one even tries.”
