8 Gennaio 2026

Tokyo, Jan. 8 (Jiji Press)–Honda Motor Co.’s N-Box minivehicle topped Japan’s new vehicle sales rankings in 2025 for a fourth straight year, followed by Toyota Motor Corp.’s Yaris compact car and Suzuki Motor Corp.’s Spacia minivehicle, industry data showed Thursday. The N-Box, which Honda revamped in autumn 2023, sold 201,354 units, down 2.4 pct from a year earlier. Its roomy interior and updated design helped it maintain its top spot. The Yaris sold 166,533 units and the Spacia 165,589 units, both little changed from the previous year. Toyota’s Corolla slipped two places from 2024 to fourth. Nissan Motor Co.’s Note compact fell from sixth to 15th, leaving no Nissan model in the annual sales rankings’ top 10. Daihatsu Motor Co.’s Move minivehicle, which was redesigned in June, ranked sixth. The N-Box, the Yaris and the Spacia also topped the rankings in December alone. The rankings were based on data released by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association and the Japan Light Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle Association. END [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.]
