In a post on Truth Social, the American president himself reported on his conversation with his Colombian counterpart. “It was a great honor to speak” with him, Trump wrote in a post on X, according to which Petro called him to “explain the situation regarding drugs and other disagreements we have.” “I appreciated the call and the tone – the American president, who last Saturday, in the press conference following the capture of the Venezuelan leader, had urged him “to watch his back” – and I look forward to meeting him in the near future. Preparations are being made by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Colombia’s Foreign Minister. The meeting will be at the White House in Washington.”
