(Adnkronos) – “Russia and China have zero fear of a NATO without the United States, and I doubt that (the Alliance, editor’s note) would be there for us if we really needed it.” The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated this in a post on Truth Social, highlighting that “the only Nation that China and Russia fear and respect is the United States” as he “rebuilt” it.
Trump reminded “all those big NATO fans” that member states’ defense spending “was at 2% of GDP and most weren’t paying until I arrived.” According to Trump, the US was “foolishly” paying instead of other Alliance members, but the moment he asked allies to increase spending to 5% of GDP, everyone paid “immediately,” even though “they said it couldn’t be done.”
“Remember, also, that I alone ended eight wars and Norway, a NATO member, foolishly chose not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize – Trump added – But that doesn’t matter. What matters is that I saved millions of lives.”
