(Adnkronos) – Iran has accused Israel of ”threatening its national unity” after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his support for the protesters who have been demonstrating for a week in Tehran and other parts of the country against the cost of living and the government.
“The Zionist regime is determined to exploit every opportunity to sow division and undermine our national unity, and we must remain vigilant,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai at a press conference in Tehran. Baghai also accused Israeli and US leaders of “incitement to violence”.
