(Adnkronos) – Will Smith has been sued by violinist Brian King Joseph, who participated in his ‘Based on a True Story: 2025 Tour’. The musician accuses the actor and rapper of sexual harassment. As reported by ‘Variety’, which examined the document filed in a Los Angeles court, Joseph was allegedly hired in November 2024 for a concert in San Diego and subsequently included in the tour, in addition to being involved in the creation of a new album. Over time, their relationship reportedly became increasingly close, so much so that Smith allegedly told Joseph: “You and I have a special bond that I don’t have with anyone else,” giving him a series of attentions deemed inappropriate by the violinist.
Joseph – Variety further reports – has also sued Smith’s company, Treyball Studios Management, for wrongful termination, following an incident that occurred in March in Las Vegas during a tour stop. The musician claims that someone entered his hotel room, booked by Smith’s company, leaving personal items – including HIV medication registered to a person other than Will Smith – and a message that Joseph interpreted as a warning of an imminent return to the room for sexual relations. The message read: “Brian, I’ll be back no later than 5:30, just us,” and was signed “Stone F,” with a drawn heart.
The violinist reportedly reported the incident to hotel security and tour management, who allegedly accused him of lying, holding him responsible for the episode. Joseph claims he was wrongfully terminated a few days later, suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and significant financial losses. Currently, Smith and his representatives have not released any statements.
