Taiwan: president, ‘from China, provocation for regional security and international order’

(Adnkronos) – “China ignores the international community’s expectations for peace and insists on undermining regional stability with military intimidation.” This is the denunciation from Taiwan’s president, Lai Ching-te (William Lai), as China continues its large-scale military maneuvers around Taiwan, a de facto independent island, but for which Beijing wants “reunification” without excluding the use of force. “It is a blatant provocation against regional security and international order,” continues a Facebook post in which the Taiwanese president expresses his “strongest condemnation.” In another post, he accuses China of behavior “far from what would be expected from a responsible great power.”
