Tokyo, Dec. 30 (Jiji Press)–Tokyo police have arrested a man on suspicion of stabbing a woman in the Takadanobaba district of the Japanese capital’s Shinjuku Ward on Monday, investigative sources said Tuesday. The man arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department faces attempted murder charges. The woman in her 30s, an employee of an esthetic salon, was stabbed in four places, including the chest and the stomach, around 12:10 p.m. Monday. The victim was conscious when she was sent to hospital. The suspect had been on the run since the attack. The site of the incident is about 200 meters southwest of Takadanobaba Station of East Japan Railway Co., or JR East, and located in a residential area. END [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.]
