USA, migrant bonus tripled for ‘self-deportation’ by year-end

(Adnkronos) – The United States government has announced a bonus worth 3,000 dollars and paid travel for undocumented foreigners who agree to leave the country before the end of the year. “Undocumented immigrants should take advantage of this opportunity and self-deport, because if they don’t, we will find them, arrest them, and they will never return,” said National Security Secretary Kristi Noem in a statement regarding the initiative with which Washington hopes to accelerate mass expulsions. The ministry will organize the trip and pay the new subsidy, which triples the one announced in May for the same purpose. According to Noem, since January 2025, 1.9 million irregular foreigners have “voluntarily” self-deported.
