Iran Army, ‘we have not yet used our true missile power’

23 Dicembre 2025

(Adnkronos) – Iranian naval and ground forces are ready to face any scenario and the Islamic Republic has not yet used its true missile power. This was emphasized by Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesman for the Tehran Army, claiming that during the 12-day war with Israel, some Iranian missiles were not intercepted by Thaad, the American defense system considered the most technologically advanced in the world.

Speaking at a meeting of the Islamic Association of Independent Students at Sharif University, Shekarchi explained that Thaad interceptor missiles cost between 10 and 12 million dollars, but they fail to intercept Iranian Fattah missiles, which are produced at significantly lower costs. The brigadier general stressed that during the war, Fattah missiles hit targets in Israeli territory with maximum precision.

Shekarchi, quoted by Mehr news agency, specified that the Islamic Republic has strengthened recently and remarked that the Basij forces, as well as the naval and ground forces, have not yet been mobilized, while missile power is “completely ready” but “has not yet been used.” The spokesman finally stated that Iran’s adversaries have changed their approach, moving from direct confrontation to a “soft war” of propaganda, with the aim of weakening public morale.
