17 Dicembre 2025

(Adnkronos) – Japan is “always open” to dialogue with China. This was stated by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, considered a hawk, after tensions between the two countries triggered by her previous statements on Taiwan. Today, Kyodo news agency reports, Takaichi spoke of the desire to “create constructive and stable relations” and described the Asian giant as an “important neighbor”.

“My position on creating constructive and stable relations remains unchanged,” she stated. “Japan has always kept the door open for dialogue.” And, after implying that Tokyo might intervene militarily in the event of a Chinese attack on Taiwan, Takaichi acknowledged that the two countries “have problems to solve.”
