The Venezuelan leader states that he trusts the “seriousness” of North American trade union leaders and political and religious movements who understand “the gravity of the threats” from the Donald Trump administration.
“Many political leaders, many, many opinion leaders are fully aware of the value of peace in America and of respect for Venezuela as an exemplary country, which respects the United States and international law, a peaceful and pacifist country,” Maduro continued, claiming to “know the United States very well,” a country that “I also love very much,” he added.
The Venezuelan leader then lashed out at Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Corina Machado, accusing the opposition leader of conducting “a fascist campaign.” “She said something very serious, very serious that I don’t know if the Public Prosecutor’s Office has heard.
