Thailand, early elections, February 8 vote for parliamentary seats

15 Dicembre 2025

(Adnkronos) – In Thailand, once again the protagonist of an escalation on the border with Cambodia, voters will be called to the polls on February 8 for early elections. The voting date, reports the Bangkok Post, was announced by the Electoral Commission after the dissolution of Parliament.

From December 27 to 31, candidacies can be submitted. There are 500 seats in the House of Representatives that voters will be called upon to renew. Deputies are elected for a four-year term.

The announcement of the voting date comes after Prime Minister Anutin Charnviraku, the third since August 2023, last week requested the dissolution of the assembly, paving the way for early elections three months after he came to power, replacing the ousted Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
