Italy, Germany ‘common vision of Europe’s role’

(Adnkronos) – Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Italy’s foreign minister Antonio Tajani “share a common vision of Europe’s role,” Tajani wrote Friday on X after talks with Merz at a European People’s Party meeting in Heidelberg. 

“In Heidelberg, I had a very friendly and positive meeting with the Chancellor of Germany @_FriedrichMerz,” Tajani wrote on X. 

“We share a common vision of Europe’s role, and the need to strengthen European action on security, competitiveness, and migration issues,” Tajani continued. 

“We will continue to maintain close coordination with Berlin to achieve a just and lasting peace in #Ucraine and the Middle East as swiftly as possible,” Tajani went on. 

The next Italy-Germany intergovernmental summit due to take place in Rome in January will be an opportunity to further strengthen our relations on all levels,” Tajani concluded.
