(Adnkronos) – Italy’ foreign minister Antonio Tajani on Thursday sent congratulations to Switzerland’s former president and foreign minister, Ignazio Cassis, on his appointment as vice-president of the government.
“Congratulations to @ignaziocassis on his appointment as Vice President of the Swiss Federal Council,” Tajani wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“A recognition that rewards his expertise, his statesmanship and his constant commitment to serving his country,” the post continued.
“To Ignazio, my best wishes for a successful tenure,” the post concluded.
Cassis has been a federal councillor since 2017 and heads the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
