(Adnkronos) – Italy’s foreign minister Antonio Tajani will pay a visit to strategic partner India “in a few days” as part of his drive to boost exports to non-EU countries, Tajani told the Confimi Industria assembly via video link.
“In a few days, I will be in India, a strategic partner with whom we are working on the Imec (India-Middle East-Europe) trade link to connect the European market to the Gulf and the Indo-Pacific (by sea and rail),” Tajani said.
“I have put growth at the centre of my efforts and launched an export plan to open up new markets for your products. Last week, I was in Saudi Arabia, where our exports have grown by 82% over the last three years,” Tajani told the Confimi Industria

“Our goal is to do better and better,” Tajani continued.
In a sign of Tajani’s growth diplomacy drive, Italian ambassadors and directors of Italy’s trade agency ICE’s offices abroad will attend the third National Export Conference taking place at the Fiera Milano on 17 December, he said.
It is the first time that ICE directors will be guests at the upcoming conference, which experts from Italy’s state lender CDP, export credit agency and investment agency Simest are also attending, Tajani noted.
