(Adnkronos) – Ahead of a bilateral business forum in Riyadh on Tuesday, foreign minister Antonio Tajani hailed the “unprecedented significance of Italy’s cooperation with Saudi Arabia, calling the Gulf state “a key strategic beacon” for his country’s non-EU exports plan.
“Bilateral cooperation between Italy and Saudi Arabia assumes unprecedented significance,” the foreign ministry wrote Monday on X, citing Tajani in an editorial for Saudi English-language daily Arab News.
The editorial pays tribute to the petrostate’s ambitious Vision 2030 blueprint to diversify its economy, create jobs and expand sectors such as tourism, real estate, mining and financial services.
“#Vision 2030 is propelling the Kingdom toward a transformation of historic scale and Italy sees Saudi Arabia as a key strategic beacon in its export plan for high-opportunity non-EU markets,” the foreign ministry post went on, quoting Tajani.
“With a spirit of ambition and optimism, we are co-organising the Italy – Saudi Arabia Business Forum in Riyadh,” the post added.
