Nikkei Briefly Loses over 1,200 Points in Morning

21 Novembre 2025

Tokyo, Nov. 21 (Jiji Press)–Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 stock average briefly dropped more than 1,200 points on Friday morning, pressured by overnight falls in all three U.S. major stock gauges. At 9:12 a.m., the Nikkei index stood down 1,264.260 points, or 2.54 pct, from Thursday at 48,559.68. Technology issues faced especially heavy selling pressure in Tokyo trading, after their U.S. peers, including artificial intelligence-related heavyweight Nvidia, skidded lower in Thursday’s trading. “Fears of an AI bubble bursting are intensifying,” said an official of a foreign-affiliated securities firm.
