(Adnkronos) – Foreign minister Antonio Tajani is chairing a conference in Rome on Friday to boost ‘Roots Tourism’. Guests include national, local and regional officials, the CEO of state-run company Sport e Salute (Sport and Health) and the president of the National Italian American Foundation, according to a foreign ministry statement.
The event is being held at Villa Madama in round table format and participants include Fiumicino’s mayor, Senator Mario Baccini, Province of Avellino president, Rizieri Buonopane, Sport e Salute president Marco Mezzaroma and CEO Diego Nepi Molineris, and Monti Ausoni and Lago di Fondi Regional Natural Park president Giuseppe Incocciati, the statement said.
National Italian American Foundation president Robert V. Allegrini and the advisor to the Vice Presidency of the Council of Ministers for Local Authorities and European Programmes, Carmine De Angelis, are also taking part in the roundtable, the statement noted.
After the roundtable, Tajani will present several awards and will wrap up the event with his concluding remarks, said the statement.
Journalist Giovanna Pancheri is moderating the conference. The event is being funded by the national Development and Cohesion Fund, which together the European Union Structural Funds is the main financial instrument through which the Italian state implements its levelling-up policies.
