(Adnkronos) – Croatian premier Andrej Plenkovic’s visit to Rome shows “the desire to open a new chapter” in his country’s “already solid” partnership with Italy, premier Giorgia Meloni told journalists late on Wednesday at a joint press conference.
‘I am delighted to welcome my friend Plenkovic here, two years after my visit to Zagreb and following (Italy’s president Sergio) Mattarella’s visit in July,” Meloni stated.
“These are all bilateral visits, which demonstrate the desire to open a new chapter of a partnership that is already solid – for geographical and historical reasons,” Meloni went on.
Plenkovic underlined the value of annual trade between Croatia and Italy which has hit 9 billion euros, calling for an inter-government summit next year.
The summit “will focus on our cooperation priorities,” Plenkovic said.
