(Adnkronos) – China will suspend imports of Japanese seafood. Japanese media, citing government sources, are reporting the new episode in the diplomatic dispute between the two countries.
China – specifies broadcaster Nhk – states that this measure is necessary to monitor the waters of the damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant, which are treated and discharged into the Ocean.
China had only recently resumed purchasing these products after a ban was imposed when Tokyo began discharging treated water from the damaged nuclear power plant into the sea in 2023, following the earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011. Beijing has not yet confirmed the new decision.
