Sheinbaum, ‘US raid to stop drug trafficking? It won’t happen’

(Adnkronos) – “It won’t happen.” This was stated by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, commenting on the statements made by Donald Trump about the possibility of the United States launching attacks in Mexico to stop drug trafficking. “There has also been a clarification,” Sheinbaum declared during a press conference at the National Palace, referring to the video released in recent days by Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, who spoke of a possible intervention only if Mexico requested it.

“We do not want the intervention of any government. It’s not that we don’t want support – yes, we do – but not with foreign troops,” Sheinbaum clarified, specifying that in several phone calls the United States government has offered support in the fight against crime and that on every occasion their proposal for intervention has been rejected.
