(Adnkronos) – Italy’s foreign minister Antonio Tajani and defence minister Guido Crosetto were set to take part in ‘2+2’ consultations on Monday with their UK counterparts Yvette Cooper and John Healey, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The consultations, which include the fields of defence and security, are taking place in VTC with the aim of cementing “strong collaboration between Italy and the United Kingdom within the G7, NATO, and Quint,” said the statement.
Bilateral meetings will precede a meeting of all four minister that will look at “the fight against hybrid threats, the latest developments in Ukraine and the Middle East (Gaza, the future post-UNIFIL scenario in Lebanon and Iran), and security in the Western Balkans,” the statement continued.
