Germany, alarm over fake app threat against 20 Berlin schools

17 Novembre 2025

(Adnkronos) – Berlin police have received over 900 emergency calls related to the alleged threat circulating on various messaging apps, announcing attacks against approximately 20 schools in Berlin. A spokesperson stated that the police consider the message “a fake deliberately spread to sow panic.” In a post on X, law enforcement warned against disinformation and fake news. “We have no indications of any concrete danger or threats,” read the statement published last night. Today, schools will operate normally: officers will maintain a presence near school buildings to be able to intervene quickly if necessary.

There were numerous online reactions after the police message. Parent chats “are going crazy right now,” one user wrote. “My son – another wrote – showed me the video with the threat; he’s scared, and so are his classmates. They won’t go to school tomorrow. I’m scared too. Please do something,” he wrote yesterday.

The message containing the threat was forwarded to several school groups, with various institutions named. Due to the viral spread of the message, the police assured that they would strengthen their presence, while an investigation has been launched to identify the person responsible for the alarm.
