(Adnkronos) – Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen has chosen an unusual approach to deal with the problem of haters who post hostile comments about him online. About two weeks ago, the former head of government and current leader of the Moderate Party created a group on Facebook made up of his haters with the significant name “All of us who hate Lars Løkke” (‘Alle os der hader Lars Løkke’).
In a post last night, Rasmussen therefore invited the group members – which numbers about 440 – to a personal meeting. “You write so diligently here, so let’s meet in real life,” he wrote. “I’ve found a place and set up a table. This means you can come and tell me why you hate me. I promise to listen to you.”
“We’ll see if a divergence of opinions can turn into a conversation,” he added. The meeting will be held on Saturday evening in Copenhagen. The liberal politician was Prime Minister from 2009 to 2011 and again from 2015 to 2019. Since the end of 2022, he has been Foreign Minister under the leadership of social democratic Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. Local elections will be held next Tuesday in Denmark. It will be the first time that Løkke’s Moderates have run in local and regional elections since the party’s founding in 2022.
