Military, drone attacks against cities in northern Sudan

13 Novembre 2025

(Adnkronos) – Drones have bombed Merowe, a city in northern Sudan that hosts one of the country’s main dams in an area controlled by Sudanese soldiers. The Army has pointed the finger at the paramilitaries. A security source reported the launch of seven missiles, while witnesses spoke of at least 28 explosions heard between midnight and dawn.

For two years, the conflict has dragged on, pitting the Army against the paramilitaries of the Rapid Support Forces. The attacks “targeted the Army headquarters, the airport, and the Merowe dam,” about 350 kilometers north of the capital Khartoum, according to a statement released by the military, which stated that the drones were intercepted. According to witnesses, there is a total blackout in Merowe.
