(Adnkronos) – Italy’s premier Giorgia Meloni and foreign minister Antonio Tajani will take part in a campaign rally in Naples on Friday in support of deputy foreign minister Edmono Cirielli, the centre-right’s candidate for governor in Campania regional polls later this month.
Infrastructure and transport minister, Matteo Salvini, who heads the anti-immigrant League party – part of the ruling centre-right governing coalition – will also attend the rally along with other prominent conservative national politicians and local party leaders.
Friday’s rally is slated to take place amid tight security at the Palapartenope theatre at 17.30 pm.
Cirielli, a senior member of Meloni’s right-wing Brothers of Italy party, will face off against centre-left coalition candidate Roberto Fico in the Campania regional elections on 23-24 November.
