(Adnkronos) – There seems to be no peace for Diana Loginova, artistically known as Naoko, an 18-year-old street musician from the group Stoptime, who has been accused over protest songs against Russian leader Vladimir Putin. She was supposed to be released this morning after serving two sentences, but was immediately arrested once again, Ovd-Info reported. The same fate befell the band’s guitarist. Only the drummer was released.
In the streets of St. Petersburg, Stoptime performed songs by exiled Russian artists, such as Monetochka and Noize Mc, who are critical of Putin and the conflict triggered by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began more than three years ago. Videos of a mid-October performance in the city center captured dozens of young people singing enthusiastically. The musicians had been arrested, and Loginova, among others, was sentenced to pay a fine of 30,000 rubles (approximately 320 euros) on charges of defaming the Russian army.
