Sudan, explosions near Khartoum

7 Novembre 2025

(Adnkronos) – Explosions were heard near the Sudanese capital Khartoum, controlled by the army. This was reported to AFP by witnesses the day after the paramilitaries announced an agreement for a humanitarian truce. Residents of Omdurman city stated that the explosions occurred near a military base and a power plant, causing power outages. Other witnesses in Atbara, 300 kilometers further north, reported seeing drones, which were targeted by anti-aircraft defense systems.

After the capture of El-Facher city in western Sudan on October 26, the paramilitaries of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) appear to be directing their offensive towards the Kordofan region, in the center of the country, and Khartoum, further east. The capital has experienced a period of relative calm since the army regained control in March, but drone attacks carried out by the RSF against military and civilian sites have continued.
